Events Past and Planned.
North Rail Expo is becoming an important event in the ELRSS calendar. It is held in St. Albies Hall, Margaret Street, Launceston in June and brings together modellers of many disciplines. ELRSS has a display of live steam models and model engineering items and there are other display of model train layouts of all shapes, gauges and sizes, model aircraft, submarines, boats and cars and more. North Rail Expo 2008 was a great success and the 2009 Expo is expected to be equally successful.
North Rail Expo 2009 will be held on June 13th and 14th so make a note.
2 Tracks in 2 Days (also called Tassie 2 Tracks) is another significant event in the ELRSS calendar and has been for the last 3 years. In 2008 a healthy contingent from Bulla Live Steamers braved the high seas of Bass Strait to attend and plan to return in 2009 and a lone Hobart enthusiast made the trip north.
The event starts at ELRSS on Saturday in Evandale and then progresses to
the North West Model Engineers Club in Ulverstone on the Sunday. This year
"2 Tracks in 2Days" will be held on November 7th and 8th.
